What you will do
Reporting to the République Provincial Park Manager, the successful candidate will direct a work crew and will provide supervision of staff responsible for maintenance of grounds and equipment. The duties and responsibilities will include:
- Preparing work schedules and tasks in order of priority on a weekly basis for maintenance employees.
- Directing a small work crew in duties such as cleaning grounds, mowing lawns, looking after trees, shrubs, and flower beds.
- Approving employee's timesheets, keeping records and completing reports
- Maintaining trails
- Conducting routine building and equipment maintenance
- Inspecting grounds and following up on complaints
- Installing and repairing signage
- Managing all motor vehicles and ensuring their maintenance
- Performing other tasks as required
Work Environment
- Working days and on weekends
- Working in all weather conditions
Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Need to have
- High school diploma or GED
- A minimum of three (3) years of related work experience in grounds and equipment maintenance
- A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience
- A valid class 5 driver's license
- Thorough experience working with Microsoft Office Suite applications is required
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
- Written and spoken competence in English and French is required
Nice to have
- A valid Emergency First Aid/CPR certification
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training
Wage
$26.74 per hour
